Ted Noten's Chanel001 gun packs in a 24 carat gold bar with femme essentials
Women these days are not the coy and damsel types. They are lean and mean, and are as tough as the boys around them. And celebrating that facet of femininity is Ted Noten, as he launched the first set of his “provocative” seven-part series named “Necessities for a Woman (to Feel Like a Woman Through the Eyes of a Man).” One of the artifacts launched is a Chanel001 gun which comes with a Chanel lip gloss, an antique hairpin, an 18 carat gold toothpick, a perfume bottle with an 18-carat gold mechanism, a 50-gram 24 carat gold bar, a USB stick, and a Viagra pill (?).
Signature 3-D printed nylon gun from Norten for Dior, the Dior001 comes with a distinctly concealed Dior lip gloss, an antique hairpin, a stock of essential medicines, a USB stick for storing private data and a 100-gram sterling silver bar.
The other noteworthy item is the “Uzi Mon Amour” suitcase edition that comes with 2/55 Kg bar of silver. The acrylic case comes etched 24-carat gold plated flowers. The silencer of the gun features a sensuous Chinese love poem around the silencer. You can check out all these items at the Design Miami (Art Basel 2011) from June 15–19 at the Ornamentum Gallery.
