The most expensive Mint Julep in the world comes by Woodford Reserve & Tiffany
As summers are just round the corner, it is time to soak up the sun and celebrate in style. And to add to the wine part of your extravagant wine and dine schedule, Woodford Reserve which is “the official Bourbon of the Kentucky Derby” is putting up the world's most exclusive and expensive mint julep with a little help from Tiffany & Co. Going under the hammer is an “ultra limited edition” of three Prestige julep cups with a start price of $2,000 each. Set in sterling silver the base of the cup is done up in 24 karat gold vermeil in a design that featured on a horseracing trophy crafted in 1876.
The proceeds of the auction will be donated to The Heart of a Horse Foundation charity. You can also go for one without the gold detailing as 103 of them will be sold for $1000. Successful bidders and buyers will also be treated to a set of special global ingredients like “ice made of rainwater collected at Tasmania, Australia; rare chocolate mint grown in San Diego, California; bourbon smoked sugar from Louisville, KY combining the flavor of raw Demerara sugar and Woodford Reserve barrels; and a small batch of the Master Distiller's personal selection of Woodford Reserve super-premium bourbon.”
