Eva Longoria tops the list of most expensive celebrity tweets for a charity auction

Who said Twitter was a free service? In an innovative initiative by Twitchange a 10-day celebrity charity auction which allowed anyone to bid on over auction 100 famous actors, musicians and sports stars volunteering their tweets for the relief of Haiti quake victims. Topping the proceedings was Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, as her tweets fetched a staggering $32,240. Another major contributor was President of Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White who earned over $29,000.

eBay helped to arrange for the auction through Web auction service Kompolt. However, popular on Twitter did not convert into sure sales, like for instance Zachary Levi from TV show Chuck has 90,000 followers that converted to a meager $20,000. Likewise, Justin Bieber with 5.5 million followers earned as little as $13,000 to be place ninth in rank. Some stars like Shaquille O'Neal also gave winner freebies like package four tickets to the home opening game of the Boston Celtics and Self-help author Tony Robbins sponsored a stay at a resort in Fiji.
